Full Qualification

National Certificate (NC)

Awarded to individuals who have achieved all the required units of competency for a national qualification as defined under the Training Regulations.

  • Covers complete qualification package
  • Valid for 5 years (for most qualifications)
  • Can be used for employment locally and abroad
  • May be required for certain professional licenses
Certificate of Competency
Specific Competencies

Certificate of Competency (COC)

Awarded to individuals who have satisfactorily demonstrated competence on a particular or cluster of units of competency.

  • Covers specific competencies only
  • For those not yet qualified for full NC
  • Can be combined to eventually earn NC
  • Useful for specialized job roles

  • Duly accomplished Application Form
  • Original and photocopy of any valid government-issued ID
  • 2 pieces passport-size ID pictures with white background
  • Proof of training (certificate or diploma) for qualifications requiring mandatory training
  • Self-assessment guide for walk-in applicants without formal training
  • Other documents as required by specific qualifications

Common questions about TESDA assessment and certification process

Anyone can apply for assessment as long as they:

  • Are at least 15 years old (some qualifications may have higher age requirements)
  • Can communicate in Filipino or English
  • Have the physical and mental capacity to perform the tasks of the qualification
  • For qualifications requiring mandatory training: must have completed training from a TESDA-accredited institution

Assessment fees vary by qualification but typically range from:

  • ₱500 to ₱1,500 for most qualifications
  • Higher for specialized or equipment-intensive qualifications

Some applicants may qualify for free assessment under TESDA scholarship programs.

If you don't pass the assessment:

  • You may retake the assessment after 30 days
  • You'll need to pay the assessment fee again
